A strong low pressure system will bring windy and wet conditions to Western Europe throughout the day on Thursday as it moves eastward. The British Isles can expect to see scattered rainfall across the region, as well as gusty winds, with clearing likely towards the end of the day as a ridge begins to build across the Isles. Meanwhile, a cold front from the system will extend across the western coastline of Continental Europe from France up to the Scandinavian Peninsula on Thursday. The light to moderate precipitation associated with the front will move eastward across Western Europe for the first part of the day before high pressure that will build in behind the front will allow for a partial clearing by the end of the day.

The low pressure system itself will move over Scandinavia on Thursday, producing moderate precipitation across the region, with areas of localized heavy precipitation possible. The heaviest of the rainfall will move from Sweden eastward to Finland as the day progresses. Most of the precipitation will be rain, although higher elevations can expect to see snow from the system as well. To the south, the wet conditions associated with the front will reach Central Europe in the morning on Thursday. The line of rain associated with the front will extend from northern Italy, through Austria and the Czech Republic, and into Poland starting around mid-morning on Thursday and lasting for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, the eastern Mediterranean countries will see significantly clearer conditions as a ridge will remain in place over the region for most of the day.

The precipitation associated with the storm will make its way into Eastern Europe in the afternoon. Belarus and Lithuania up through to northwestern Russia can expect to see light to moderate rainfall from the front, while the wet weather will likely miss most of Ukraine and southwestern Russia.
