Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Lower pressure over Mexico will trigger widespread scattered showers and thunderstorms over the country on Saturday. Remnants of Dolly will bring moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds to the northwest. Off Mexico's west coast, Tropical Storm Genevieve will continue on its westward path, away from land. Although it is expected to continue to increase in strength, it is not expected to reach hurricane strength.

The Caribbean Islands will see partly cloudy skies and widespread scattered showers on Saturday. To the east, a westward moving tropical wave has low potential for tropical cyclone formation.

A tropical wave over Honduras and Nicaragua will kick up showers and thunderstorms over Central America on Saturday. Meanwhile, lower pressure over Panama and Colombia will produce moderate to heavy rainfall and storms late Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Tropics quiet except for disturbance 97L

A tropical disturbance (97L) in the mid-Atlantic ocean consists of a closed circulation with one spot of heavy thunderstorm activity to the northeast. The disturbance is under about 20 knots of wind shear and is over waters of about 26.5°C, and there is some dry air to the west. These are very marginal conditions for tropical storm formation.
